Greetings! My name is Patrick Farrell. I have completed my first novel “The Archangel Affair.” It is a work of historical fiction set during the Allied Expedition to North Russia at the closing stages of W.W. I. The novel has gone through many drafts and revisions to include the service of a professional manuscript reader. Currently, I am looking for feedback. I have posted the novel’s first few pages. A bit more about myself: I am an avid reader with a keen interest in history and world politics. After serving in the army during the waning years of the Cold War, I began a career on the lighting side of the film/television industry. Over the past few years, I’ve honed my writing skills at UCLA’s Writers Program, along with courses at various literary conferences. Although I have written a few screenplays that have done well in screenwriting competitions, I’ve come to the conclusion that my taste for sweeping historical epics are best suited for the pages of a novel.

I have always been intrigued by America’s tenuous relationship with the Soviet Union, and the discovery of the Allied Expedition to North Russia gave me a wonderful foundation. If all goes well, “The Archangel Affair” will be the first of a trilogy. I thank you for your time.
